Man with Van Kensington Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Kensington to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. As a provider of removal and transportation services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and promote ethical conduct in all aspects of our business.
Our Commitment and Scope
Man with Van Kensington is committed to operating in a manner that respects the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of every individual who contributes to our services. This statement applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers engaged in providing goods or services to our business.
We aim to foster a culture where exploitation is never tolerated and where concerns can be raised without fear of reprisal. Our leadership team is responsible for overseeing our approach to modern slavery and ensuring that appropriate governance is in place.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This means we will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation that is involved in such practices, whether directly or indirectly. Any confirmed breach of this policy may result in the termination of employment, cancellation of contracts, or referral to the relevant authorities.
All staff and key suppliers are expected to act with integrity and to comply with all relevant legislation and internal policies. We seek to create an environment where high ethical standards are the norm and where any suspicion of exploitation is taken seriously and acted upon promptly.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Our supply chain includes vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and occasional labour and logistics partners. We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and can demonstrate compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws.
We communicate our expectations to suppliers and may require them to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking. Where appropriate, we conduct checks and assessments to understand the level of risk in our supply chain and to verify that suppliers have suitable controls in place.
We reserve the right to undertake audits or request supporting information from suppliers to assess compliance. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address and remediate issues. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our standards, we will consider ending the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Kensington encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical conduct. Concerns may include suspected exploitation, unsafe working conditions, withholding of wages, or coercive practices.
Reports can be made directly to a line manager or a senior manager within the business. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible so that matters can be investigated thoroughly and fairly. Reports will be handled sensitively and, wherever possible, confidentially.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith. All reports will be reviewed, and, where necessary, appropriate action will be taken, which may include internal disciplinary measures or engagement with external authorities.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those responsible for procurement, supplier management, or recruitment. This may include guidance on recognising signs of exploitation and understanding how to escalate concerns.
We continue to review our policies and procedures to strengthen our response to modern slavery risks. As our business and supply chains evolve, we will seek further opportunities to enhance due diligence, engage with suppliers more closely, and improve transparency.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months by the management of Man with Van Kensington. The review considers any incidents reported, changes in our operations or supply chains, and updates to relevant legislation or best practice.
Following each review, we will update this statement as necessary to reflect our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We will continue to monitor risks, improve our processes, and promote ethical conduct throughout our organisation and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Kensington and represents our current position on modern slavery and human trafficking.
